AdLab Welcomes Guest Speaker Ben Jones
We were thrilled to have welcomed Ben Jones, formerly of Google and founder of Sundog Creative, as our guest speaker this past Monday, March 4th.
Ben Jones is the brilliant mind behind Sundog, a marketing service that “helps fast-moving brands evolve creatively from organizational strategies to campaign support to individual asset reviews” using the power of data and AI (https://sundogs.io/). Ben brings a wealth of experience and profound insights about the media landscape that he shared during his talk.
One insight shared by Ben to the audience was, “AI sees in objects and not in movements or change, and storytelling is about something that happens as a result of something changing,” Ben continued, “AI isn’t good at storytelling at the moment.” As Adlabbers expressed their concerns to Ben about AI infringing on their job opportunities, Ben addressed their concerns by saying, “AI is a tool to be used for our benefit.” Ben Jones not only enlightened us with his profound observations about the intersection of creativity and AI but also reassured us that, when wielded thoughtfully, AI can be a powerful tool for enhancing our capabilities rather than posing a threat.
